Wintry.
Again this year I am organizing, along with my amazing friends Amy and Anna, and selling at Wintry Market; a holiday themed market featuring artists and makers who live in Idaho. Its going include 40+ vendors, workshops, a food truck, and photo booth. Last year was a huge success and this year it has grown, so I am very excited about it... and its less than two weeks away!!

Letterpress

Had a fun evening out with the girls Tuesday, as we visited Idaho Poster and Letterpress to create some coasters. It was fun learning some print-making history, and coming up with our design based on Bingo's extensive collection.

Mylar at the Modern
Local artist Adrian Krenshaw organized a group of people who crochet and knit to create panels using VHS tape. This project, Mylar Madness one part of a large art event that happens at the Modern Hotel in Boise the first Thursday in May each year. These panels were stitched together to create a large covering for a wall in the courtyard. I added my own 19x81 piece which was crocheted, you can see the finished project below. It was so great meeting other talented artists during this project.

Wintry Market
These photos were taken by Laurie of Pearman Photography of Wintry Market which happened November 5 & 6. It was great to have such an awesome crew of Amy and Anna to put this event together, and such a fabulous space that was donated by Ballet Idaho. I had a wonderful time meeting all the vendors, shopping, and seeing old friends. I can't wait for next year!
If you are interested in participating next year please email us at wintrymarket@gmail.com.
And please follow Wintry Market on facebook and twitter.

Weekend
I know its Tuesday, but I had a lovely (and busy) weekend full of parties and not much time to post. This week I am finishing up some volunteer projects. And I will hopefully be posting some new etsy shop items in the days / weeks to come.
The picture above is of my first crocheted blanket I created for a friend's baby. And also a picture of Kelly Knopp's art featured in the Freak Alley Gallery downtown.
Idaho Artists / Crafters: There is only 10 days left to apply for the Wintry Market. Check the vendor section of the blog for details.

Wintry Market

So excited to announce the Wintry Market... an Arts & Crafts Market organized by Amy Pence-Brown and I. This idea came about with discussions on how Boise needed a Market around the Holiday season that supported Local Artists and the Indie Craft movement. This event will take place first weekend of November (5th & 6th) in Boise at the Ballet Idaho Auditorium space. I will be sharing event details here and on our Wintry Market blog as the market progresses. See the links below to check in on our progress. This is going to be a fabulous event, we sure hope that you can attend!

Lovely ideas
I love Dottie Angel, by how an amazingly great thrift-er she is, and all the cute stuff she makes. The images above are a square crochet blanket (that I will have to try) and some darling burke chairs she found. You can find Dottie on her website, twitter, shop, flickr, and she has a new book coming out this summer!
