fall excitement
I love fall, including the colors and all the wonderful traditions it brings.
So excited to be on Radio Boise 89.9 FM (my favorite local station) today, on the show Mothers Ruin (1-4pm). Amy Pence-Brown and I will be discussing Wintry Market. You can listen online or via the radio if you are local, we should be "on the air" around 2:30pm.
Radio Boise is also doing their first ever Radioathon these next two weeks. You can donate online or call.
Also, there is a fabulous Wintry Market giveaway this week hosted by I Just Might Explode and featuring Amy's shop Ticky-Tacky.

Costumes...

So I decided to be an owl for Halloween at the end of September, when I found this awesome tutorial on how to make an kid's costume. Making the costume went so smoothly that I ended up making it for Ryan as well, so we ended up being a pair. The mask I made was similar to the pattern with the costume, but if you wanted to buy a mask you can find a great one here. These costumes turned out so cute and they were really comfortable!!

Halloween & Birthday Party
So this past weekend we threw a Halloween / Pirate themed party for my Husband's 30th birthday, and it was a lot of fun! My mom, sister, and I spent a lot of time putting together all the details, below are some of our ideas I wanted to share.
This was Ryan's party banner, created with pre-cut pennant boards and patterned paper.
Ryan's Birthday Cake which was exactly like his invitation designed by Tammy.

Special album my mom made for Ryan and Flower vase which is a paint can wrapped with patterned paper
Jack-o-lantern and a fun centerpiece which is just a white planter with glued on eyes.

Prizes for Costume Contest included a notebook case and Coffee mug with a spider from ACJInspirations.

These were skull shaped candy holders, which are the Basic Grey, Eerie Do Me A Favor Party Boxes

happy (late) fall!
Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Fall...! I know its a little late here, but I am enjoying every second of it.
I am sorry that I have been so distant on here lately, its mostly due to going through tough times at work. I enjoyed many things about the past three years in my profession, and I have some amazing projects to show for that. But now that I'm not employed, it's time to find something I really love. So if you have any amazing ideas I would love to hear them! But for now I will continue to post on things that inspire me, and make me happy!
With that, I have some fun craft projects I am working on while job searching, and plan to post about them here in the next few weeks. Plus I am planning a fun Halloween / Birthday party for my Husband next week... so I can't wait to share pictures!!

Halloween Costumes
What amazing costume ideas bloomacious has discovered through pictures on flickr. Below are some images they have recently posted, and a couple that I have found. These images demonstrate how simple it can be to come up with something great!
Also check out bloomacious for their other fun halloween posts!

Alice by Kanira (bloomacious post), and Snow White by Alicia J. Rose (bloomacious post)

Mad hatter by brittanyhildebrandt
Could be created by wearing a simple dress, maybe with dress coat over it. Add a top hat with a long ribbon.
Mary Poppins by misselisabeth
Could be created easily by wearing a long skirt, with a ruffled blouse and a blazer over. A vintage hat with flowers or ribbons. And accessories of a carpet bag, scarf or small bow tie, and don't forget the umbrella.
