Suzie

French design studio Colonel  creates their Suzie collection by using the plastic bands of '60s-era American camping chairs.

Lustre

Lustre is a stoneware pendant collection designed by Tom Dixon, there are 4 pendant shades styles with metallic finishes. These designs are inspired by Mayan temples and Art Deco forms.  They are available for purchase online.

Lamp

I loved creating my lamp for Chair Affair this past month, it was part of an silent auction of lamps re-purposed by members of Interior Designers of Idaho.  I started with a brass lamp base, and a lamp shade frame. I painted the base black, and added a polystyrene backed Muslin to the frame of which I used silk-screen ink to create the pattern based off the iconic Dazzle Camouflage. It was fun, and pretty inexpensive, though next time I think I will have to start with a white store bought lampshade!

Short Week.

So happy this week is going to be short. We had a nice relaxing weekend, and I hope that you did too! We are headed out of town to a wedding on Friday... excited to see some of my favorite friends!!

I love this room... filled with bright colors! The chandelier and flower pillows are fantastic.

Rustic Light

Staying on the same theme of a rustic style using reclaimed elements, I love these light fixtures by designer Marie Mortensen, who is from Idaho. She does a great job of using existing hardware to create new fixtures. Visit her etsy shop here.

confused-direction & lars contzen | colourcourage

For the designers fair 2010 in Cologne, there was a collaboration between the design teams of confused-direction and lars contzen. Together using "colourcourage" a system created by lars contzen with planning and conception by confused-direction they created unique display of color, pattern, and form.

colourcourage® is a color system defined by the designer Lars Contzen, which contains design patent-protected color families, which are combined into harmonious color sounds. These were defined against the background color psychological regularities in combination with the current cultural understanding of color and are intended for the range of architecture and interior decoration....via colourcourage
