Beautiful songs from the Swedish folk duo First Aid Kit.  I particularly love their cover of Fever Ray's, "When I Grow Up". The video below for "The Lion's Roar" is off their new album of the same name.

Saturday Songs | Mr. Gnome

I have missed Mr. Gnome the last couple of times they have stopped here in Boise, so I am hoping they come back because I really do love their music.  Its amazing that two people can put forth such a whimsical, metal sound. Delicate Steve played the Neurolux for Treefort this past March.  They put on a high energy show, and executed each song with skill and grace.  They are currently on tour and are opening for Yeasayer for some dates.  The funny video below is for Butterfly from the album Wondervisions.

Saturday Songs | Sister Crayon & Treefort

Sister Crayon, was one of my favorite music discoveries from Treefort, they played the Linen Building on Friday afternoon.  After hearing their set on Radio Boise earlier that day, and I just had to go see them.  I love the way Terra's cheerful and exotic voice combines with the band's electronic sound.  The video below for I'm Still The Same Person, off the album Bellow, directed By A. Boise's inaugural Treefort Music Fest last weekend, was AMAZING!  Idaho has always struggled to get musical acts to stop here, but during this festival we witnessed something that could change our community forever!  A grassroots effort is what it took to get so many amazing musicians from all over the world and local favorites to play their heart out this past weekend.  I had so much fun walking from venue to venue, seeing old and new friends, and feeling like I was literally in a different city.  I really hope that Treefort continues growing each year, and I can't wait to be there again!

So Treefort folks, here is my wishlist for next year: Yeasayer, Dirty Projectors, Hooray for Earth, Yacht, Chairlift, Viva Voce, Battles, Geographer, Nurses, Youth Lagoon, Future Islands, Yppah, The Rapture, Cut Copy, and Local Natives.

So I pretty much love this band...M83 has a fantastic 80's retro feel to their music, perfect for listening while getting ready the day ahead.   Not to mention this intense video for Midnight City off their newest release, Hurry Up We're Dreaming.

I have always been huge fan, and drawn to Björk's unique sound and creative talent.  She is always creating new ways to express herself.  The new album Biophilia combines her music with an interactive application.

There has been a lot of talk lately about Zola Jesus, and now that I have been listening I can understand why.  I love her combination of edgy synthetic pop with emotionally charged lyrics.
