Wintry Market

So excited to announce the Wintry Market... an Arts & Crafts Market organized by Amy Pence-Brown and I. This idea came about with discussions on how Boise needed a Market around the Holiday season that supported Local Artists and the Indie Craft movement. This event will take place first weekend of November (5th & 6th) in Boise at the Ballet Idaho Auditorium space. I will be sharing event details here and on our Wintry Market blog as the market progresses. See the links below to check in on our progress. This is going to be a fabulous event, we sure hope that you can attend!

Be there... Chair Affair 2011
The past three years I have organized (with fabulous volunteers) the Chair Affair , a furniture design competition put on by Interior Designers of Idaho that happens here in Boise Idaho. This year its being put together by a lovely group of ladies, and I am their helper!! This event raises money for Interior Design scholarships in the state of Idaho, and is a great way to see new trends in furniture design, showcasing student and professional talent.
This year, like most there is a Lecture Series on Friday April 22nd from 10:30am-1pm at the Double Tree Riverside, we will feature two excellent lectures, and lunch for only $25 (online). The Gala Event is Saturday April 23rd from 7-11pm at The Linen Building, at this event you can view all entrants, vote for the people's choice award, and then awards will be presented. The admission price for the gala is $20 for Adults (online) and $10 for Children (13 & Under). Entertainment will provided, hors d'oeuvres, and no-host bar. There will also be the Silent auction for the idi Artist Lamp Series and Raffle prizes!
The Re:Use cup challenge will be happening again this year, which includes children and adult entries and prizes. See poster for more info. These cups will be voted on at the Gala event, and you do not need to be present to win.
See last years article in the Boise Weekly, for more information on this event.

Missing...etc.
Yeah, I know... I have been missing lately. Work has been draining all inspiration lately. I am back for the time being...no excuses.
I wanted tell all the locals to get over to Nampa and visit the Brass Razoo, a re-purposed furniture, clothing, and accessory shop. I met owner Elise Vaughn at Kirsten's (Simply Grove) Christmas party... and she is so cool. The latest photos of the store are simply amazing!! Congrats ladies!

on a trip... sun valley

We had a great time in the Sun Valley area of Idaho this weekend. Its a three hour drive through the desert to different kind of place. Sun Valley is a ski town that is full of beautiful vacation homes and condos. It also has great scenery and great outdoor activities to offer. We stayed in Ketchum at a reasonable hotel, and visited some great local eateries and shops.
And the list of some of the local spots we visited. The Cellar Pub; Great place to meet and mingle, we had dinner there and drinks. The Pioneer Saloon; Lots of history in this establishment, had a great time looking at all the antiques they have collected over the years.. They are always packed with people waiting for dinner or having an after dinner drink. The Kneadery; here we had a yummy breakfast, I had the Huevos Rancheros... delicious. Cabin style interior with a close to home cooked meal.CIRO (Restaurant and Wine Market); Fantastic Oven fired pizzas and local fare specials. Wine list is decent, but also spendy. Great modern rustic atmosphere and excellent house made ice cream for dessert. Ketchum Kitchens; Amazingly jam-packed kitchen store, where you could of course find just about anything. We found some great plastic stemless wine glasses for our trips to Shakespeare. Belissimo; Beautiful store full of housewares. Contains all things to dress your home from the bathroom to the kitchen. Also had a great selection of cards and gifts. Java in Hailey; Nice to see a familiar coffee house. They have an amazing drink called "bowl of soul". If you are ever in Idaho you should try it out.
